Track Biography
The inception of this track began in early 2010, when Steve Anderson and Woody van Eyden first got their heads together to do a collab. Woody already had a track idea and core melody in place, and after delivering both fantastic lyrics and vocals on his previous releases such as
"Neve", "Before Long", "Closer" and "All Too Late", Steve wrote and delivered the verses to what then became "Everything's Twisted". With a solid idea now in place for the basis of the track, a joint session together in Woody's studio would nail things down.
Steve was invited by Woody and the huge
HeavensGate brand to play at the 2010 Nature One Festival in July shortly after, where he delivered a set to remember - which included his own latest and unreleased exclusive productions, whipping the German crowd into a frenzy to leave a full arena for Menno de Jong to follow. With a firm friendship and working relationship now in place, Woody and Steve set a date for some studio time in Germany to complete the track ideas.
Steve flew to Germany in September a few weeks after Nature One, and spent a couple of days with Woody and the team – having now signed a
management deal with Music & Artist. During the stay Woody and Steve got their heads down in the studio, and the connection of being in the same room saw the hook/chorus piece come together almost instantly. With a full lyric now in place, and Steve’s vocal takes in the studio being laid down there and then, both Steve and Woody had the ingredients to complete the track.
The guys agreed to form a mix each of "Everything's Twisted", in order to strengthen what would become a solid package, with both guys trademark sounds stamped firmly on each. The Woody van Eyden Mix brings that tough, edgy, energetic big room feel that all van Eyden tracks come with, while Steve opted to put his cool, progressive but still energetic and powerful slant on the meaty Steve Anderson Mix. Both mixes are made for the dancefloor, are sure to rock any club or event, with a vocal that cuts through perfectly. Along with the club mixes, the Radio Edits also deliver punch and a hook that will grip the airwaves of stations across the globe for the summer of 2011.
Due for release on EDM legend Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto imprint in May, this will prove that in terms of shaking up the Trance & Progressive scene – everything now really is "Twisted"…
