Whenever a Patterson single hits the shelves, it instantly becomes one of the hottest tracks of the moment. This has been the case since his Dogzilla days almost a decade ago. His latest single "Miss You" coincides as his first release of 2010 and as usual, comes without a remix.
- Original Mix
Starting off in traditional style, Simon begins things with a solid kick drum and driving, slowly approaching percs. Trippy FX riffs/stabs add as nice fills as the track picks up pace. A rolling bassline and plucks soon appear, gradually backed by piano fills and soft pads as the breakdown approaches. Strings emerge during the break, painting a very heartbroken, emotional atmosphere while the piano plays dramatically. The Patterson saw chords soon filter their way in and the track begins to build up. A big snare and kick roll sweep us up and into the driving, nostalgic chorus. The theme is effective but the lead doesn't grab me the way that the theme in "Always" had. A good effort overall, worthy of the Patterson nameplate.
