Recent Release Recommendation: XGenic – Tears

Well, this may not the one of the most recent singles of them all as it’s been released in April, but I’ve just come across it and it’s the one definitely worth checking out.

South America and especially Argentina is the direction many original and quality tunes come from these days. After some great and jumpy productions and remixes from Heatbeat (their remix Re:locate’s ‘Piranha’ is an obvius must-have track for every tech-trance lover), now it’s XGenic that gives Argentina another reason to be proud of. ‘Tears’ is a beautiful uplifting track made in a good old way – a proper tempo, nice piano melody, delicate vocal elements and some energetic beats – it’s clear that the ‘Tears’ are the tears of joy. The whole composition resembles a bit the early beats of Sean Tyas, but only in a good way.

If you are after something more acoustically complex, though, you should put on the Ferry Tayle remix, who adds some extra riffs to the bassline, preserving and underlining what’s finest in the original melo – this one is my personal favourite, a track which shows that it’s still possible to make an interesting and classical uplifting track without repeating the same stuff over and over again – a feeling that I often get while listening to many of the current tracks. This is the whole idea behind the RRR section – to present tracks such as ‘Tears’.

The three additional remixes from Evgeny Barduyzha and Sierra Hotel come in a different flavour from the previous two, focusing more on the basslines which are rather synthy and dominant. They add some new styles and you might struggle to compare them to the Original, but it’s purely a matter of taste whether you like them or not.
