Briefly about the anthems you might not have heard about.
After a short break we resume our anthem update and bring you more interesting bits and pieces of information. So far we’ve covered the genesis – the first and foremost events that set the anthem trends. This time we take a look at other places, both in The Netherlands and other countries which took up the habits. Is the outcome just as good?
As we said last time, Poland emerges as the next great clubbers’-place-to-be. Numerous interesting events take place throughout the year and the level of both organisation and atmosphere each year increases. The Poles have also adopted the trend of naming the anthems for their events. Not so famous yet, but definitely worth taking a closer look.
The biggest Polish event, which also is one of Europe’s most fascinating summer destinations is Sunrise Festival that always takes place during the 3rd weekend of July. The event lasts for two days and is traditionally closed with a huge afterparty on the beach of Kolobrzeg. The numbers are impressive - usually from 20 to 30 thousand clubbers each night and, if the weather is good, nearly as many during the afterparty. Both trance and house are played on two separate stages during the event, but only house makes it to the beach.

As you might have expected the beach anthems reflect the atmosphere... of the beach, but they do that rather perfectly. Balearic sounds are no surprise when you learn that the afterparty tunes are always made by a pair of Polish DJs Miqro & Maiqel, who have both had episodes in the clubs of Ibiza. The main event didn’t always have its anthem, there was a break between 2007 and 2009 when the host of Sunrise Festival, DJ Kris finished his career both as a DJ and producer. Before he did that, though, he managed to provide a track you mihgt not have heard about. A little of an anthem this one, but the track itself is worth checking out.

The biggest geniuinely Polish indoor event has been Trance Xplosion in Poznan, usually taking place in the beginning of February. The majority of the indoor events held in Poland are imported brands such as Godskitchen or Sensation, but Trance Xplosion used to open every year in style, hosting some of the hottest names in business. 2008 was the first and until now the only time TX had its own anthem. It was also the first time a Polsih event invited a major European artist to prepare the main theme. It turned out to be a German duo Stoneface & Terminal, who delivered a seriously good tune called "Endorphine".

The similar direction was soon followed by MDT Agency, the host of Sunrise Festival, who also organise the second most famous Polish indoor event, EnTrance, usually taking place in the early days of March. EnTrance is meant to introduce young talents and new names into Polsih scene, hence the name. As in case of Trance Xplosion, 2008 was the first year to announce the anthem, but MDT have been more consistent and they have been coming up with an anthem each year since then. The first was an outcome of the cooperation beetwen Polish Paul Miller and Italian Manuel Le Saux.

This year’s main theme, as well as the Sunrise Festival 2009 anthem will be covered in the fourth and last part ot the article concerning exclusively the artist responsible for more anthems alone than the others all together... Be patient!
To end our journey this time, let’s come back in Holland. There are obviously many more interesting places to attend but Trance Energy and Sensation, one of them being Luminosity. Last year’s anthem was performed by Ferry Tayle, known for his notoriosly amazing uplifting trance tunes.
