News

Since a couple of months, DJ Observer is using the Native Instruments DJ Software “Traktor Scratch Pro”. His sets are not comparable to usual DJ Gigs, they are more some kind of “Live-DJ-Act” with 100% show factor for the audience. While other DJ’s are rummaging around in their cases, DJ Observer is able to select his tracks with his McBook and the DJ Software within a few seconds and to create one Megamix after the other to set the party people into ecstasy track by track. So the vibe is going to be moved to the absolute peak.

Music

The forthcoming tracks of DJ Observer and Daniel Heatcliff are ready to storm the DJ charts soon. Besides the current remix for Willie Morales “Love”, the next release on “Black Hole Recordings” is in the starting blocks. Together with Hannah Talbot they produced the track “With me”. Already available ist the bombastic remix for Alex O’Rion “Wunderpants” on Terminal 4.

DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs 2009

Every year thousands of electronic music listeners worldwide take part and send their votes to DJ Magazine which holds clearly the most recognized and famous annual poll for DJs. Voting usually starts in summer and ends mid-autumn. On Wednesday October 28, this year’s results have been announced. We present you the prestigeous top 100 with the additional 50 artists that didn’t make it so high.

Obviously there have been a lot of speculations about the names in the top 3 and top 10. The list has generally been dominated by trance DJs, which for recent years has been reflected in the top trio with Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk and Tiesto exchanging places. Would this year’s situation change and have French David Guetta or the Swedes from House Mafia taken over? House artists generally did better in the poll last year, but would this be enough?

Greg Downey

Biography:

Belfast-born Greg began DJing over six years ago, shortly before he decided to pack up and move to Ibiza for the summer with his records. While playing at a dingy San Antonio after-party, he was spotted by the promoter of Gatecrasher, who was so impressed he asked him to play the following week at Space. Since then, Greg has worked hard to establish himself firmly among the best young DJs in the UK, recently voted Number 82 in the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ Poll.

Greg developed a taste for tougher electronic dance music from a young age and this is reflected in his unique style, which combines underground and uplifting trance with elements of techno. This is all rolled into an explosive performance, which sees him using 3 CDJs, Serato Scratch Live, Pioneer DJM 800 and EFX 1000 to devastating effect.
